Over a span of more than 30 years, Vartan Group assembled and stewarded this 509-acre, wooded tract overlooking the Susquehanna River.

In 2025 Vartan Group conveyed the property to The Nature Conservancy, ensuring its conservation and protection for perpetuity.

The property, stretching across a ridge of Blue Mountain known as Second Mountain, offers commanding views of the Susquehanna Water Gap. It is located directly north of Harrisburg, adjacent to State Game Lands 211, Fort Hunter Conservancy, and the Country Club of Harrisburg.

Vartan Group assembled the site over the course of several years beginning in the 1980s.

Thanks to the efforts of The Nature Conservancy and the Pennsylvania Game Commission, this remarkable property joins a protected wildlife corridor that spans more than 30 miles within the Kittatinny Ridge, part of an important migratory superhighway for wildlife in North America including broad-wing hawks, kestrels, ruby-throated hummingbirds, eastern bluebirds, monarch butterflies, and cerulean warblers.

This project was made possible with funding from the Hamer Foundation and Pennsylvania Game Commission, as well as financial assistance from a Community Conservation Partnership Program grant by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).
